„McROBO” robot workshop for teachers at University of Applied Sciences
On May 16th, 2019 excited and motivated teachers of the Elementary School Stadl Paura and DaVinci Academy Wels met at the University for Applied Sciences OÖ for an exciting robot workshop in the frame of the children and youth project "McROBO".
The RIC (Regional Innovation Center) organized together with University of Applied Sciences OÖ an exciting robot workshop, where teachers received further training on their chosen robot kits.
Under the command of Mr. DI (FH) Raimund Edlinger Msc, LEGO Mindstorms – robots were built and brought to live. Subsequently, there was a little competition between robots and participants got a tour through the robot laboratory at the University of Applied Sciences OÖ.
The McROBO project uses this experimentiveness to bring kids and teenager closer to science and technology and introduce topics such as robotics, digitization, virtual reality and the world of work in the 21st century through play. The aim of the project McROBO is to discover and promote talents and to establish long-term contacts with schools / youth / parents.
The consortium of the project represents besides of the consortium leader RIC three strong business partners - BRP-Rotax GmbH & Co KG, Otelo Open Technology Laboratory Vorchdorf and Wacker Neuson Linz GmbH - as experienced scientific partners on board the Ars Electronica Center, the Johannes -Kepler University (Department of Diversity & Gender Management) and the University of Applied Sciences Wels. In addition, six educational institutions are actively involved: from elementary school through the New Middle Schools to Higher Education Institutions.
